We onboard persons from most countries. In the first step of the open account process, you are asked to select your country of residency and if there are any restrictions regarding the country you come from, a message will alert you about it.

1. What do I need for the identification process?
- ID/Passport: Ensure you have a valid government-issued identification document ready. We do not accept driving licenses or residency permits. [Click here to see the list of Supported documents]
- Smartphone: You will need to take a photograph of your ID document and a video selfie. Ensure your device's camera is turned on and permitted via your phone settings.
- App Version: Update your software on iOS or Android to the latest version.
- Browser Requirements: Use Safari on iPhone or Microsoft Edge/Google Chrome on Android. Stay on the same page and avoid switching browsers.
- Background Requirements: Ensure you have adequate lighting, so your face is clearly visible. Use a white background to enhance visibility.
2. What should I do if AutoIdent does not work?
Ensure that you have completed all the steps in question 1. Use the AutoIdent feature from Monday to Saturday, between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. If you encounter any issues, please inform our support team about the specific problem at sales.ch@saxobank.com.
3. What happens if my identification was not verified?
If your identification is unsuccessful, you will receive instructions on how to address the issue. Please follow the steps outlined in the screenshots or video. Ensure you have a valid form of identification, such as an identity card or passport. We do not accept a PDF image of your identity document or a photograph of a photograph.
4. How do I sign the contract?
After you have digitally verified yourself (ID + Selfie), you will be able to create an E-Signature profile with a password. Make sure to save your password for future use. With your newly created E-Signature profile, you will be able to sign your contract with Saxo and easily sign additional legal documents in the future, such as the Securities Lending Agreement.
5. How soon is my account activated following my identity check?
Once your identification has been verified, we aim to have you up and running with access to our platform within the day. We will inform you once your account has been opened. If we need more information, we will contact you within two business days to assist with your account opening.
6. Can I sign up for multiple accounts at once?
No, you cannot sign up for multiple accounts simultaneously, as we do not provide more than one individual personal account per person. Each account requires its own identification process to ensure security.
7. What if I don't have a smartphone? Can I use a computer or laptop instead?
Yes, you can use a webcam on a computer or laptop that meets the browser requirements for the identification process. However, we recommend using a smartphone for a smoother process.
8. Is there a fee for the sign-up process?
The sign-up process is free of charge.

Digital Identification
- Passport/ID Scan: Begin by taking a clear photo of your passport or ID. Ensure that all details are visible and legible.
- Selfie: Next, capture a selfie for identity verification. Make sure your face is clearly visible and matches the photo on your ID.

Verification Process
After completing the digital identification, please wait at least 3 minutes for the verification process. During this time, do not change the browser or navigate away from the page. -
Set up Qualified E-Signature
Create a Password: Create a password that will allow you to sign documents digitally in the future. It's important to remember or securely store this password for future use. -
Review the Document
Securities Lending Agreement: Carefully examine the agreement. Take your time to understand all the terms and conditions before proceeding. -
Sign Digitally
Complete the Signing Process: Use your qualified e-signature to sign the document. Follow the prompts to ensure your signature is correctly applied.
