You can transfer stocks, bonds, ETFs and mutual funds into your Saxo account from another broker, free of charge. How long it usually takes depends on how quickly your current broker responds to our request but it can take between 2-5 weeks.
You can transfer to your Saxo account from any platform:
- SaxoTrader: Click Portfolio transfer
- SaxoInvestor: Click Portfolio transfer
- New SaxoInvestor: Click Portfolio transfer
- SaxoTrader Desktop: Click menu > Deposits and transfers > Portfolio transfer
Before you start
- Have your Saxo account open and ready.
- Have your current broker’s name and your account details with them to hand.
- Know which securities and how many you want to transfer – you’ll search for them by name on the platform.
To start a transfer
- Log in and select Portfolio transfer (please see the options and click the relevant link).
- Choose the Saxo account you’re transferring the securities to.
- Tell us whether you’re transferring to or from Saxo.
- Enter the broker details of the bank or broker sending the securities.
- Search for and select the securities you want to transfer..
- Confirm the number of securities and the price to be shown on the platform
Tip
Once you have submitted the security transfer online make sure you print, sign, and send to your bank/broker a scanned copy of the online request you have made with Saxo, as the actual time to complete the process will vary depending on the speed at which your bank responds and complies with our request.
After you submit the transfer request from your Saxo platform, it’s a good idea to also contact the broker you’re transferring from. While this is not always required, some brokers prefer to be notified, and doing so can help the process run more smoothly and quickly.
