Singapore Residents and Singapore Incorporated Entities are not charged a custody fee for accessing SGX stocks and ETFs. Aside from SGX stocks, Saxo Markets has implemented a fee structure that reflects the client’s actual usage of the trading platforms.
For accounts with Stocks, ETFs/ETCs or Bond positions, an annual custody fee applies, as shown below. The custody fee will be calculated daily using the end of day values and charged on a monthly basis.
On Saxo platforms, if you see Custody fee in the Trading conditions of the instrument you trade then custody fee will be charged when you hold this instrument. If it's not in Trading conditions then it won't be charged.
How to get custody fee waived?
If you opt in security lending, the custody fee could be waived. More details please refer to Security Lending.
Which instruments does custody fees apply to?
Custody fees apply to Stocks, ETFs, ETCs and Bonds. Singapore Residents and Singapore Incorporated Entities are not charged a custody fee for accessing SGX products.
Daily Calculation Formula
(Number of shares * Closing Price) * (Custody Fee p.a. / Yearly day count)
Calculation Example
If you hold 1,000 shares in company XYZ Inc. and the closing price is EUR 25.00 the daily custody fee will be calculated as: (1,000 x EUR 25.00) * (0.12%/360) = EUR 0.08333 per day
Monthly billing
At the end of each month, the calculated daily custody fees during the month are added up and debited from the account that holds the position. You can see the monthly custody fee booked in Account Statement report under My Portfolio/main menu.
In which currency is the custody fee charged?
Custody fee will be calculated on the instrument currency daily using the end of day values. It will be converted to the account currency at zero conversion fees when booked monthly. Where the minimum fee is applicable this will also be converted to account currency.
Is there any relation between custody fee amount and trading activities?
No, there is no relation between the custody fee and your trading activities.
From which date is the custody fee effective?
The custody fee is effective from the value date and not the trade date.
Which account will be charged if I have sub accounts?
The custody fee is applied to the account where the position is held. If positions are held on both accounts then both will be charged. If the minimum fee is applicable then this will be charged to the default account.
From which date is the custody fee effective?
Please be aware that custody fee is also calculated on NOCT (not on-line client tradable) and Delisted Instruments.
