Saxo offers you the opportunity to attend a shareholders' meeting, and/or to cast your vote digitally*.
*Certain markets require additional manual actions. Read more below.
What is shareholder voting?
With shareholder voting rights, you can vote on important matters that can affect the company that you invest in - such as dividend payouts, proposed mergers & acquisitions and who should be elected to the board of directors. Shareholder voting is a proxy voting process that allows investors to share their views with a company's leadership, thus helping to ensure the company's business decisions and direction are in alignment with most of its shareholders.
If you hold less than one full share (fractional shares), you cannot participate in voting. However, if you hold more than one share, including fractional shares totaling more than one (e.g., 1.5 shares), you are eligible to vote.
What are the benefits of voting?
The benefit of placing a vote is that you have a say and input regarding the items that are voted on in companies where you are a shareholder.
Do I have to pay for shareholder and proxy voting?
The subscription to shareholder/proxy voting and participation has a cost. The details of the costs are available here.
How do I register for shareholder voting?
You can do this via: > Corporate Actions > Shareholder voting > Subscribe. It may take up to 24 hours for the service to be activated on your account.
It's important to subscribe to shareholder voting via this digital subscription before the record date.
For shares traded on EU exchanges, please subscribe to the EU one.
For shares traded outside EU exchanges, please subscribe to Proxy Voting INTL.

The 'Record date" has passed and I haven't subscribed. What can I do?
We will do our utmost to manually register you for a general meeting or attempt to assist with digital voting. After the record date, and without a subscription, this is an administrative process and you will often need to fill out certain forms.
Saxo will attempt to register you manually and provide you with a 'control number' with which you can cast your vote via Proxyvote.com.
This is how you need to proceed:
- You still need to subscribe here:
> Corporate Actions > Shareholder voting > Subscribe.
- Then go to
> click Help center > Contact us > Write to us > Corporate actions to inform us that you have subscribed after the record date and need assistance for the proxy voting.
- Type in for example “I activated the 'digital/proxy voting subscription' today and want to vote for the Tesla shareholders meeting on November 6, 2025.”
- Click Send message.
- Normally within a couple of days, you will receive a response from us with a control number. This is a sequence of numbers you will need to cast your vote.
- Go to the website: Proxyvote.com, where you can enter the control number and then cast your vote.
