Set up AutoInvest
You can set up an AutoInvest account from multiple places.
To opt into AutoInvest, please use our platform via a web browser or mobile app. SaxoTrader for desktop currently doesn't support this feature.
You can go to Request AutoInvest account under My Profile/main menu.
After you click Start Now, choose the account you just opened to select the ETFs.
You can also easily access your Portfolio to locate any AutoInvest account that you haven't fully set up yet.
Or you can start in Portfolio > Get Started under AutoInvest section.
After you click Start new or any existing AutoInvest account, you will be able to choose how much you want to invest monthly and the ETFs you want to invest in.
Click Add more to add ETFs.
After you save your selections, you can set up a monthly transfer via eDDA/eGIRO:
Please note: only after you set up the eDDA mandate successfully the Recurring deposit will be clickable. If your eDDA mandate has expired (not active) the Recurring deposit will be greyed out and you need to set up the mandate from Deposit first. More details about eDDA set up please click here.
After you set up the eDDA mandate for the first time, it's important to understand that the mandate itself is simply a linkage between your bank account and your Saxo account. It does not automatically transfer any funds. To start sending money to your Saxo account on a regular basis, please make sure to go to your AutoInvest account (or other sub accounts) and set up the recurring via the Fund button. This step is crucial to ensure your investment strategy is funded consistently according to your preferences.

What is AutoInvest?
AutoInvest is a feature which allows you to automatically invest in various ETFs every month. You can choose the amount, select your instruments within a range of ETFs and define your instrument allocation in just a few clicks.
Automating your recurring investments can be an effective way to level out your risk exposure via dollar-cost averaging, avoiding the need to time the market, and maximize your investment potential in the long term.
What can I invest in with AutoInvest?
There are a wide range of ETFs available via AutoInvest. You can view the full range here.
How can I open an AutoInvest Account?
You will first need to open a Saxo account here if you haven't done so. When your account is approved, you may opt-in to AutoInvest at Portfolio > Get Started under the AutoInvest section. Follow the steps here.
Can I invest in single stocks or fractional shares with AutoInvest?
A range of ETFs are available via AutoInvest, including equity-based ETFs and fractional trading. However, investing in single stocks through AutoInvest is currently not available.
Are there limits to how much or how little I can invest each month?
There is no minimum or maximum amount for how much you can invest each month.
When will my money be invested each month?
The orders based on your Autoinvest instruction are placed on the 5th day of each month. If the 5th day falls on a weekend, the order will be placed on the next weekday. However, take note that the order will only be processed when the applicable market(s) for the instruments in your Autoinvest instruction are open. This means that the orders may not be filled the same day as when they are placed.
Saxo will strive to process your orders in due time. However, there may be delays in the event of external factors such as significant market movements or system capacity constraints. In such cases, Saxo may place orders manually to ensure execution is completed as soon as possible.
How do I set up a monthly bank transfer?
You will first need to setup an eDDA/eGIRO mandate on your Saxo Account. After your eDDA mandate has been successfully set up, you can schedule regular deposits via Saxo platforms: My Profile > Deposits and transfers >Deposit funds > eDDA > Recurring deposit. You can refer to the eDDA instruction for details.
Can I change my monthly amount, instrument selection and investment split?
Yes, you can adjust your recurring investment amount, instrument selection and investment split at any time. We suggest making such adjustments before the 5th day of each month to ensure these adjustments are effected before investment orders are placed for that month.
It’s the investment day and my AutoInvest Account contains less funds than the amount I specified in my AutoInvest instruction. Will I need to wait for the next investment cycle?
When you set up your AutoInvest account, your first monthly investment will only be processed if the available cash in your account is at least equal to the monthly investment amount you have indicated.
From the second month onwards, cash in your AutoInvest account will be invested according to your selected instruments and allocation, if the available cash is at least 10% of your indicated monthly investment amount.
For example, if you have indicated a monthly investment amount of $1000, but only have $300 available during that investment cycle, the $300 will still be invested according to your selected instruments and allocation.
Can I invest more than my monthly instruction?
Currently, only cash up to your monthly investment amount will be invested each month. If you’d like to invest more than this, you can enable the “Invest extra cash” feature.
Go to your AutoInvest account under Portfolio > Click on the three dots icon in the top-right corner > Click Investment Settings > Switch on Invest extra cash.
Can I stop or pause my recurring orders?
Yes, you can request to start, pause, or stop your AutoInvest instruction at any time.
Go to your AutoInvest account under Portfolio > Click on the three dots icon in the top-right corner > Click Investment Settings. You can adjust the monthly investment setting by toggling it on or off.
We suggest making such request before the 5th day of each month to ensure this is effected before investment orders are placed for that month.
What are the fees associated with AutoInvest?
We do not charge any commissions on instruments purchased through AutoInvest. You will also not be charged any custody fees if you are opted into Securities Lending.
Commissions apply if and when you choose to sell positions in your AutoInvest account.
Other general fees/charges associated with the trading of the underlying instruments may apply. Please refer to our general charges for more details.

Can I have multiple AutoInvest sub-accounts?

No, AutoInvest accounts are currently only available in SGD.

Can I transfer instruments to and from my AutoInvest sub-account?
No, instrument transfers to and from an AutoInvest sub-account are not supported.
Which account will the cash dividends be credited to?
Cash dividends will be credited to the AutoInvest account in which the relevant instrument(s) are held.
They will then form part of the funds in the AutoInvest account and may be invested in the next investment cycle.
What if one of the instruments in my AutoInvest instruction is delisted and/or no longer available under AutoInvest?
Saxo will not place any orders to purchase instruments which are delisted or no longer available under AutoInvest. Instead, the amount in your instruction which was allocated to that instrument will remain as cash in your account. For example, if your investment instruction contains an aggregate amount of S$500 and allocates 20% of the amount to be invested in a delisted instrument, then S$100 will remain as cash in your account.
You can go to the AutoInvest account under Portfolio. Click Edit at Upcoming Investments. Then remove the instrument and add more.
Instruments that have been delisted or are no longer available under AutoInvest will display an alert icon, indicating they are no longer supported for AutoInvest.
Can I use the ETFs/assets in AutoInvest as collateral to support my margin trading, such as CFD or FX, in other accounts?
