When you fund your account or withdraw from your account, the transfer needs to come from a bank account in your country of residence. This helps us verify payments and keep your account secure.
Your first deposit must be made from a bank account in your country of residence.
After a successful first funding (the bank account is registered with Saxo), if needed, you can request approval to fund from additional countries — for example due to your nationality, work, or personal circumstances.
Please note that your first deposit in your Saxo account must come from a bank account in your country of residence. After the first deposit, funding from approved additional countries will also be accepted.
Other countries may be approved if:
- You are a national of the additional country you are requesting, or
- Both your country of residence and the additional country are within the EU or EEA (including Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom)
- You have a business in another country
- You support family members abroad
- You frequently work or travel there
- You maintain a second home
- You hold a bank account for legitimate EU/EEA mobility reasons
Note: Approval is not guaranteed and requests may be rejected based on client information, security considerations, and risk requirements.
Why is approval required?
As a regulated financial institution, Saxo Bank continuously evaluates the type of business we do and where we do it. This evaluation takes place in an ever‑changing environment, where international and local rules and regulations increase complexity.
To ensure the best possible client experience and an optimal level of service, Saxo Bank applies a risk‑based approach when servicing clients. This means that all requests to add additional funding countries are reviewed individually.

How do I add an additional funding country?
To add additional funding countries, you can submit a request by completing the Expected Transactions Profile (ETP) form and provide the necessary Source of Funds documentation. Please note that your request is subject to approval.
You do not need any approval to fund your account from a bank account in your country of residence. This is the default funding method for your account, so you do not need to use the form to add your country of residence.
To request another country, please complete the Expected Transactions Profile (ETP) form:
- SaxoTrader: Add another country for funding
- SaxoInvestor: Add another country for funding
- SaxoTrader for desktop: Access the My Profile menu > Deposits and transfers > Add another country for funding > Complete and submit your application
How many countries can I fund or withdraw from at one time?
You can fund and withdraw from multiple countries at the same time, in addition to your country of residence.
What if I had previously obtained approval to fund from another country besides my country of residence?
If you had previously registered a bank account outside your country of residence before 1 July 2026, please note that the registered bank account will be marked invalid from 20 August 2026. To ensure it remains valid, you must submit a request via the platform by completing the Expected Transactions Profile (ETP) form, which is available from 1 July 2026.
If your new request is not approved, you will continue to be able to fund and withdraw from the previously approved countries.
What if I try to fund from a country that has not been approved?
If you attempt to fund or withdraw from a country that is not your country of residence or an approved additional country, the payment will be rejected and the money returned.
You will be informed that the country must be reviewed and approved before you can use it for funding or withdrawals.
