Please note the module is only available to Financial Clients contracted with Saxo Bank A/S.
The Access page is where a user administrator configures what a specific user is allowed to do on each of their accounts in SaxoTrader or SaxoConnect.
The administrator will be able to:
- View all accounts belonging to the selected client.
- See which roles the user currently has per account.
- Edit those roles at account level, including handling special rules for cross‑margined accounts.
The article will cover the following topics:
- How to manage accesses within SaxoTrader
- How to manage accesses within SaxoConnect
- Cross‑margined vs individually margined accounts
How to manage accesses within SaxoTrader
The admin user will log in to the platform, and from here they should select their profile . Once selected, navigate to Request Account Services, followed by Manage Access.
In the next window, the admin user will be asked to select the user for whom they would like to assign or edit the roles.
From the following window, the admin user will have the possibility to Edit access on the client level, and will have the ability to assign the roles on the account level.
How to manage accesses within SaxoConnect
The Admin user will be able to navigate to the client tree and select the relevant structure (1). From here, the admin user can select the Users module (2), where all the active users will be listed.
The admin will then be able to assign a user with access to trade or view certain accounts, which can be done by selecting the individual user from the Users overview (3).
Once the user has been selecting, the admin user will be presented with all the available account the user can be configured for, and the module will reflect the account numbers, the currencies and the roles that have currently been assigned (1).
What roles can be assigned?
Please review the article called How to create new users and assign roles for more information.
Cross‑margined vs individually margined accounts
Cross‑margined accounts
- Accounts that share margin must share the same role configuration.
- When you assign or change the role on one cross‑margined account, all accounts in that cross‑margin group will receive the same base and plus roles.
- In the Account overview (screenshot above) this is shown under the heading Cross margined accounts, with grouped account names (e.g. “Account Group Margining – A”) and their underlying sub‑accounts.
Individually margined accounts
- Accounts that are not cross‑margined can be configured individually.
- You can give the user a different base role and different plus roles on each such account (e.g. trading on one, view‑only on another).
Please view the article called What is Account Level Margin? to learn more.
Useful tips
- Use View only when a user needs information access without trade or payout abilities.
- Add plus roles only when required to perform specific back‑office tasks.
- Be cautious when editing cross‑margined accounts; confirm that all accounts in the group are intended to have the same access.
- After changes, verify that sensitive accounts show No access (or appropriate limited roles) in the Roles column.
